Mecca Masjid Is Among Hyderabad's Most Popular Attractions

The city of Hyderabad has many things to offer to  tourists, who travel to this part of the world for  a memorable vacation. The Hyderabad cuisine is amongst its most popular offerings that travellers love to enjoy while touring this region. Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah had established the city in the year 1591 and  remained under his dynastic rule before it was conquered (falling into the hands is not appropriate)  by the Mughals. This explains why the historical structures in Hyderabad, mostly reflect the Qutub Shahi style of architecture. One of the greatest examples of the Qutub Shahi architecture is Mecca Masjid, one of the oldest mosques in this area.

Built under the reign of Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, the 5th Sultan, this grand mosque was planned in the centre of the city.. Bricks used in its construction were made from soil that was brought all the way from Mecca, which is regarded as the holiest city according to Islamic traditions. The mosque's  facades, three in number, were carved from a single piece of granite, and it took more than 8,000 workers to construct the edifice. The foundation stone for this structure was laid by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, while its construction was completed by the Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb. Over the years, it has become one of the famous Hyderabad tourist attractions and a prominent heritage site as well.
